Armed gangs control Port-au-Prince, forcing most hospitals, including the General Hospital, to shut down due to violence. The shooting occurred during a press conference about the hospital reopening. Meanwhile, deadly floods in Port-de-Paix destroyed hundreds of homes and flooded 11,000 buildings on December 23rd. A man lost his father in the flood, and his family members are hospitalized.
