| and government has now issued health advisory on Human MetaPneumoVirus (HMPV) to prevent the potential spread..An eight-month-old child in Bengaluru has tested positive for the Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) amid a surge in such cases in China. The child was receiving treatment at a private hospital in the city.According to the details, the child does not have any travel history.Advisory: Human MetaPneumoVirus (HMPV) : Preparedness in GNCTDAdvisory for CDMO, MD/MS :A. Please ensure timely reporting of all ILI and SARI cases on IHIP –Portal B. Proper line listing of all cases of SARI and Lab confirmed case of Influenza at IHIP-Portal C. Patient safety Measures –Isolation of suspect cases and other measures to prevent spread of disease including all universal precautions while treating patients with ILI/SARI D. Liasioning with private hospitals of their district with MSNH to ensure proper reporting and treatment E. Ensure availability of following:-1. Paracetamol, Antihistaminics, Bronchodilators, Cough syrups etc. for alleviating the symptoms in mild cases.2. Availability of Oxygen and other support consumables3. Capacity building- including hygiene/patient safety measures.4. Identification of facilities to treat severe cases of SARI with support system capacity especially for ventilator support and awareness generation amongst the Medical/ paramedical staff. F.
