least five people were killed in a new outbreak of violence in Manipur's Jiribam district, following rocket attacks by militants in Bishnupur on Saturday. The previous day's rocket assaults resulted in the death of an elderly man and injuries to five others. As per an officer from the security forces, the casualty count is likely to increase, as militants launched a gunfight early Saturday morning after entering a village and killing a resident. The ongoing violence is attributed to ethnic clashes between the Kuki and Meitei communities.Show more
