A powerful 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck Taiwan, injuring 27 people and causing widespread damage. The earthquake, which occurred in the early morning hours, was centred in the southern part of the island. Tainan City reported the highest number of injuries, with 16 cases. Multiple aftershocks, including a 4.2-magnitude quake, were felt in the region. The Taiwan Meteorological Department issued alerts for over 20 counties and cities, and work and schools were suspended in Nansi District for cleanup efforts.Show more
